Victoria’s Yellow Pages™ Directory Is Now Easier to Read and Addresses Eco-conscious Consumers’ Needs

Victoria (British Columbia), February 9, 2009 – Yellow Pages Group (YPG) reveals noteworthy changes to its Victoria Yellow Pages™ directory. Victoria area residents will start receiving the 2009-2010 directory that boasts increased font size as well as a new ecoFinder™ section.

The new Victoria Yellow Pages™ directory is now easier to read. The font size in the residential and alphabetical business listings has been increased from 6 to 7 points. Additionally, it now consists of 4 columns instead of 5, making it clearer and easier to read for users.

“We listened to feedback from our users and are proud to announce a 2009-2010 Yellow Pages™ directory that is better suited to meet their needs,” said Paul Batchelor, Vice President. Sales, Western Region, Yellow Pages Group. “We strive to provide consumers with the best resource available and to make it as relevant as possible.”

The new directory also includes the ecoFinder™, a section highlighting hundreds of businesses that provide environmentally-preferable products or services or that have leading environmental operational practices. Whether consumers are looking for fair-trade clothing, organic beauty products, Energy Star® certified appliances, biodegradable cleaning products or even hybrid cars, the ecoFinder™ will help Victoria area residents find a business that offers eco-friendly  products or services close to home.

YPG relied on existing third-party certifications or assertions from the businesses themselves that their products, services or operational practices were considered superior in environmental sustainability.

Don’t forget to recycle!
In line with its environmental commitment, YPG reminds citizens of the importance of recycling their old directory once their new one lands on their doorstep. Yellow Pages™ directories, the ones with the Walking Fingers logo, are completely recyclable, and the outdated edition can be placed with other mixed paper as part of the municipal Blue Bag recycling pickup.
